Turbo Session

Midweek quality training needs to be done during the winter months if you want the standard of your cycling to improve each year, and the ideal place to do it is on your turbo trainer. Indoors on your trainer you don’t have to worry that it is dark outside, or that the weather may be bad, or that the roads are busy. Instead, you can get on with your essential high quality bike training, without your concentration being constantly interrupted. At this time of year these turbo training sessions will be very productive, and a good deal warmer and safer too than trying to go out in the dark. 
The sessions are coached and will build cycling skills, efficiency, speed and strength. The sessions are indoors and similar to a spinning class but with an emphasis on real world cycling technique and time trialling. 
If you are new to the turbo sessions, make yourself known to the coach in charge, who will assist you in setting up your bike/trainer.
You will need a road bike, a towel to collect the sweat (guaranteed), drinks and perhaps something to eat afterwards.
Bring your own turbo trainer along or borrow one from the club (first-come-first-served). Arrive 18:45 on time (allow at least 15 minutes) to set up. The session starts in earnest at 19:00. 
A typical turbo session is 75 minutes long and includes warm up, cool down, drills and a main set. This is then followed by some stretching to boost recovery and conclude the session. 
We will regularly run a test session to monitor the improvements throughout the year.
