Open Water Swimming

Location: DORCHESTER SAILING CLUB - Abingdon Road - Dorchester-on-Thames - Oxfordshire OX10 7LP

Open water swim session FOR CLUB MEMBERS ONLY.
For safety reasons, prospective members cannot swim at these session.

Wetsuits and membership cards are compulsory.

This is an uncoached session. You should (as a minimum) be confident of swimming at least 400m non-stop. If you are new to open-water swimming or lack confidence in your ability, let the Safety Officers know and they will buddy you with an experienced swimmer.

The sessions take place at Dorchester Sailing Club, Abingdon Road, Dorchester, Oxfordshire, OX10 7LP (http://www.dorchestersailingclub.org.uk/html/Map.htm).  There is plenty of parking there. Our agreement with the Sailing Club includes the use of the changing rooms or toilets in the clubhouse but it is everybody's responsibility to leave them in the same state we found them therefore always clean after yourself.

The sessions are supervised by Swim Safety Officers. We need 2 of these per session. If everyone who swims regularly volunteers twice in the season, and those who swim occasionally volunteers once, then we will have enough. Please see the calendar for volunteer signup.
