BARTT Handicap and Social - England Athletics and Cross Country - Sunday Rides

Firstly, a massive thank you to all the volunteers at Monday’s Sprint Tri. You made the day for the competitors – one even asked where we found so many lovely people to volunteer! Many competitors are new to the sport and really appreciated your advice and encouragement.

It was also great to see so many Oxford Tri members racing and you didn’t let us down! There were some great results all round but special mention to Rebecca Duxbury for overall female win and Sarah Spruytenburg and Fran Gomez for their second place and age group wins.

If you haven’t seen them already Gope Walker got some great photos that you can see here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/136349453@N03/sets/72157700462483344/

BARTT Handicap and Social

Entry is open for the final BARTT of the season next Tuesday evening. This is the season finale handicap final. Anyone can enter but entry to the handicap final only goes to anyone that has raced a BARTT this season. Everyone will be set off at intervals based on their times throughout the season which should (hopefully) have everyone finishing at the same time, On that note we could do with a few additional timekeepers so if you aren’t racing but want to join in the fun please sign up here - https://oxfordtri.co.uk/events/bartt-volunteering-21

As it is little late in the season daylight might be an issue. Therefore, working front and rear lights are compulsory and we will be starting a little earlier at 6.30 pm with the briefing at 6.20. There will be no Headington Hill run this Tuesday.

After there will be a BBQ at Oxsrad, Sax isn’t able to cater on Tuesday so if anyone fancies a job as chief burger flipper please let me know.

England Athletics and Cross Country

After our trial last year Oxford Tri has now been accepted into the Oxfordshire Cross Country League for 2018-2019. I am sure everyone who managed to race at one of the events last year will agree this is a fantastic series of races and great winter training that will be even more fun with a team of us there. If you want to take part this year you will need to register with England Athletics and this is £16 per year – you can join through the link on our webpage below. On top of letting you to join in the muddy cross-country fun some key benefits of membership are that when registering for running events you can select Oxford Tri as your club and get England Athletics discounted entry rates.

For further details and to register take a look at the webpage link here:  https://oxfordtri.co.uk/english-athletics-membership-info Once you sign up please can you let Dan know at ea [at] oxfordtri [dot] co [dot] uk
