Static Bike - Club Relay/30th Anniversary Celebrations - BARTT - Sunday Rides
With the sun now out and lighter nights the numbers for static bike have dropped significantly. We have therefore made the decision to cancel these sessions until Autumn.
Club Relay/30th Anniversary Celebrations
Registration is now open for the Club Relay at Queenford Lake on 12th August - https://oxfordtri.co.uk/events/club-relay-race
If you didn't take part last year or are new to the club the format for the race is quite simple and great fun. In teams of three (selected to be as evenly matched as possible) your first team member will complete the swim and then tag the next team member who will then swim and in turn tag the last team member who then swims. They will then tag the first team member who starts the bike leg and so on. First team home wins and there are Club Champs points up for grabs!
To mark our 30th anniversary this will be followed by a celebratory BBQ open to competitors and spectators.
We will send out more details on how submit times for team allocation shortly but save the date in your diaries!
This Tuesday sees the halfway point in this year’s BARTT series but it is not too late to join in the competition for the BARTT championship as your best five results over the summer count towards this. For those that haven’t done BARTT before more information and sign up can be found here -
We could also still do with an additional volunteer for Tuesday - https://oxfordtri.co.uk/events/bartt-volunteering-16
We have a variety of rides planned for this weekend:
Intermediate 2 - (13-15mph// 21-24kph) led by Katherine Clarke
Intermediate/fast – (16-17.5mph/26-28kph led by Rob Davies - https://www.strava.com/routes/13889948
Fast – (17.5mph/28kph and above) led by Dana Vilistere - https://www.strava.com/routes/10427757
In addition, making the most of the long days and sunshine, Gope Walker is planning a 100 miler at intermediate/fast pace. If you fancy joining him you will need to be sure you can do the distance/pace, although there is the possibility of a couple of stops this will be a long, but fun, day out - https://www.strava.com/routes/12465381
The weather is looking warm so please ensure you have enough drink to stay hydrated, as well as food for the ride. As usual rides leave Oxsrad at 9.15.
